I know that starting the process of attending therapy can be scary and overwhelming.  This is why I take a trauma-informed and client-centered approach to my work with clients.  In our time together, we will determine past and present barriers that are getting in the way of you finding success in work, relationships or overall daily functioning.  We will work at a pace that feels right to you, while continuing to push you outside of your comfort zone.

Life has a way of forcing us to confront things which we believed we already overcame. Sometimes we look at ourselves and think, “how did I get here?”. We can become so complacent and comfortable with discomfort that it becomes our new normal, forming our views and behaviors without our knowledge that it’s even happening. Sometimes we all just need an accepting and neutral person to process life with in order to regain control and understanding. We will work together to build respect and trust. I believe that counseling is not giving a hand to a person sitting in the mud, it’s sitting in the mud with them and getting out together.

Testimonials

“Bobby has been an amazing therapist to work with. I’ve been able to explore a lot with him – my overdeveloped sense of guilt, substance use, my relationships with my parents, partner, and work colleagues, etc. No matter what I bring to the session, Bobby has met me with compassion, but has also been willing to challenge me. I feel more centered and better equipped to deal with what life throws at me as a result of my sessions with Bobby.”

“Since I’ve started working with Bobby, I’ve noticed significant improvements in my life – both with specific issues and with my overall confidence and well being. I enjoy working with Bobby because each session feels productive without necessarily feeling like *therapy* – the discussions progress naturally, they feel collaborative, and I feel like a person or a peer, rather than a client. Bobby also seems to just get what does and doesn’t work for me and how I like to communicate and talk about issues. He is never judgmental and is very easy to talk to.”

Testimonials

“I absolutely recommend Courtney as a therapist. Her approach is gentle, kind, and unbiased. Courtney is an excellent listener and has created such a safe environment for me to genuinely express my feelings and thoughts without feeling judged. Rather than pushing me towards decisions she encourages me to trust my own thoughts and feelings when making major decisions, something that has always been difficult for me. She has really helped me navigate my life, goals, wants and needs while completely honoring myself. Courtney has honestly changed my life for the better and I can’t thank her enough.”

“I started working with Courtney when my anxiety had grown to result in my first panic attack last year. I was confronting very painful identity issues and sexual insecurity issues from the relationship I was in that were extremely difficult for me to talk about. Courtney provided such a warm and welcoming space to hear me, support me, and tools to handle the times that my emotions had felt like they had taken over me. I am incredibly grateful to Courtney for her support and encouragement which has contributed to my best mental health state in years and truly feels like I have a chance to live life to the fullest with a renewed confidence and comfort in who I am as a person.”

I believe that stepping into the therapeutic process is one of the bravest things that we as humans can do. It takes courage to do the deep, inner work that leads to healing and transformation. I believe therapy is a place where you should feel seen, valued, and honored right where you are.

I use a person-centered approach with my clients; allowing me to walk alongside them as a partner in their healing process. No matter how difficult and painful our stories can be, I believe we were created to heal, and I believe that healing happens primarily through the context of relationships.

You are the expert on your life, and it would be an honor and joy to hold space for you. In the presence of safety, we can create goals that feel attainable and realistic to empower you to take hold of the freedom you deserve.

Mandy Bailes, LPCC

Specialties:

  • Relationship and Intimacy Struggles
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Insecurities/negative self-talk
  • Conflict and Dispute Resolution
  • Substance Use and Addictive Behavior (maintaining a balanced life)
  • Athletes and Students (burn-out and the stressors of sports and school)

From a holistic approach, our mental health is equally as important as our physical health. Rather than waiting until things fall apart, I believe we should approach our mental health in a preventative way. Are you feeling trapped in a place of negative self-rumination based on limiting beliefs that are no longer serving you? Do you have a feeling of impending doom fueled by anxiety and stories of worst-case scenarios that haven’t happened and maybe never will? This can cause us to feel disconnected within ourselves, which makes it difficult to create and sustain deep and meaningful connections with others. Often times these uncomfortable feelings and emotions that we want to “get rid of” or “fix” are trying to show us something.

I will hold space for you as you make these connections from your head to your heart and guide you back to that unencumbered place of being. It would be an honor to support you as you learn to live as your truest self by working through barriers to authentic healthy living.

Testimonials

“Working with Mandy has been wonderful. I’ve tried therapy a few times now, and this is the first time I’ve stuck with it for an extended period of time. I owe a lot of that to Mandy because it truly feels like she has my best interests in mind, remembers small details, and makes me feel comfortable enough to open up and discuss the harder things. Therapy has shifted in my mind from a chore and something that feels like a necessity, to something I genuinely look forward to. Not only am I experiencing the benefits, but my family is as well and that has been the greatest impact.”

“Mandy has been nothing but an asset to me. Life can be incredibly stressful for someone with anxiety & excessive worry such as myself. I have a wife, 2 young boys, & a 3rd on the way, that are all relying on me to be the best version of myself. Mandy’s relaxed & relatable approach has rebuilt confidence in myself to be able to cope with challenges of daily life. She has me looking at life through a different lens, making me a more enjoyable person to be around to family & friends.”
